After being a year-round athlete in high school, Dara began boxing at 20 years old.  She went on to qualify and compete in the first-ever U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Women’s boxing, followed by winning the U.S. Nationals two years later.  Dara also competed in her native county Taiwan, winning the Olympic trials there, and represented Chinese Taipei in international competition for three years — most notably at the World Championships, Asian Women’s Championships, and Asian Games.  After her second World Championship run in 2014, Dara grew a passion for representing the interests of athletes in the sport.  She is currently studying for a J.D. while serving as ALX’s team manager and volunteering as an athlete rep for USA Boxing and on one of Old Town North’s community committees.  Dara’s professional background is in Project Management, where she oversees multi-million dollar commercial real estate development projects in the D.C. area.
